Recent presentations and publications

Hans Auer is senior research assistant at Energy Economics Group (EEG). He holds a Ph.D in Energy Economics and a M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Vienna University of Technology. He joined EEG already in 1995. During his Ph.D studies he’s been on leave several times, e.g. at the Institute of Energy Systems at Berlin University of Technology in 1997 and at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory at University of California in 1998 working in the field of electricity market liberalisation.

Hans Auer has been involved in many projects conducted at EEG and he has a broad experience in almost all fields of research covered by EEG. His main interests are liberalised energy markets in general and several economic aspects of grid access of RES-E generation technologies, grid operation and grid regulation in particular. In recent years he has been responsible for the scientific coordination of the EC projects GreenNet, Re-xpansion and GreenNet-EU27 as well as other national and international projects in the field of liberalised electricity markets.

Hans Auer teaches classes in "Electricity Markets” and seminars in "Energy Economics" and "Energy Modelling and Energy Policy Analyses". In the last ten years he has also contributed to many scientific publications at EEG as well as published as a lead author.
