Sebastian Busch joined the Energy Economics Group [EEG] as a Research Associate and PhD candidate, after having studied at the University of Cologne and UC Berkeley with coursework in energy economics, supply chain management, operations research and physics. Previous positions with work focus on energy analyses were at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and Prognos AG, Basel. At EEG Sebastian participates in several research and consulting projects in the field of energy policy and modeling and teaching activities. Further previous and current affiliations in addition to the research carried out at EEG include contributing author to IPCC Special Report on Renewable Energy Sources and Climate Change Mitigation, member of Young Energy Economists and Engineers Seminar, supervisor in the Environmental Technology & International Affairs postgraduate program and research analyst at the German Advisory Council on Global Change (WBGU). At EEG Sebastian´s primary research interests focus on three pillars: (i) the analysis of framework conditions for renewable energies (ii) the application of mathematical programming and decision support tools to energy and interrelated (infrastructure, environmental) systems and markets and (iii) energy in the context of sustainable development and spatial planning. top » |
