Thomas Faber joined the Energy Economics Group (the former Institute of Energy Economics)in 2000. He holds a degree in electrical engineering (Automation and Control Engineering) and a Ph.D in energy economics at Vienna University of Technology. His major fields of research are the role of renewable energy sources in liberalised electricity (energy) markets as well as aspects of energy policies in this context. Currently he is working on the development and realisation of models in the field of long-term trends in energy markets.
