Project description
The BEYOND project integrates regional-local electricity systems by implementing a secure, automated and decentralized local market based on smart contracts and blockchain technologies. This will be validated and demonstrated based on "need-owners" (market actors: prosumers, aggregators, municipalities) and stakeholder engagement (especially DSOs and market operators). In Austria, the developed market design for local markets is tested at three demo sites (municipality and SME cooperative). The Austrian consortium covers the entire need-owner value chain. User-centered co-creation processes empower people, communities, districts, cities and regions to be actors in the future sustainable energy service provision.
