EMB3Rs (User-driven Energy-Matching & Business Prospection Tool for Industrial Excess Heat/Cold (H/C) Reduction, Recovery and Redistribution) aims to develop a platform for the (re)use of excess heat/cold for industry and end-users. The platform enables users to identify the costs and benefits of recovery pathways for surplus H/C and to set the conditions for implementing the most promising solutions. It provides industrial users and other stakeholders with an intuitive, self-service tool for evaluating the feasibility of new technologies and exploring business scenarios. This will benefit each individual manufacturer or consumer in a given industrial community, but will also lead to win-win solutions between different industries. 16 companies and institutes from across Europe have joined forces to help energy-intensive processes improve their energy efficiency. 7 case studies provide data for the design and validation of the platform.
