This project served to provide technical assistance to the European Commission in realisation of the 2018 report on renewable energy (call for tender ENER/C1/20I6-507). This technical assistance included:
- Data collection, analysis and assessment of the progress in deployment of renewable energy, and national measures promoting such deployment, in the 28 EU Member States, based on Member State renewable energy progress reports submitted in 2017, other reports and studies, and additional research;
- Data collection on the EU biofuel, biomass and biogas markets and on economic, social, and environmental impacts of the EU consumption of biofuels, biomass and biogas.
Under the lead of Ecofys/Navigant a team of renowned organisations in the field of sustainable and renewable energy carried out the work in the course of this project. TU Wien’s role was to focus on the projected progress of renewable energy by 2016, 2020 and 2030 compared to the target, conducting a thorough quantitative assessment of the effect of current and planned Member State policies and measures by use of the Green-X model.
