Lena is currently a PhD candidate at the Energy Economics Group (EEG) at TU Wien, conducting research in the design and modeling of electricity markets with high shares of renewable generation. As part of the collaborative project PSS 2030+ between APG, AIT, and TU Wien, she contributes to shaping the future of Austria’s electricity system. Prior to her doctoral studies, Lena completed her Master’s degree in Mathematics in Economics and Statistics at TU Wien, including a research stay at the Shibaura Institute of Technology in Tokyo, where she focused on optimal electrolyzer dispatch strategies. She gained valuable teaching experience as a tutorial leader in mathematics and econometrics, and supported economic policy research as a student assistant at ECO Austria. An internship at VERBUND further strengthened her practical understanding of energy market operations. Lena’s academic journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics in Economics and Statistics at TU Wien, where she modeled the COVID-19 pandemic in her thesis. A formative gap year in Paris reflects her open-minded and international outlook.
