Project description
The ReLIFE project aims to support the EU’s climate and energy goals by accelerating deep renovation in the residential building sector. In line with the Renovation Wave and Fit-for-55 package, ReLIFE is developing an open-source platform designed to improve access to reliable building data and inform decision-making across the renovation value chain.
The platform integrates three core services: financial tools to assess renovation investments, forecasting tools to estimate renovation trends and co-benefits, and technical support to guide technology choices and improve the usability of instruments like EPCs (Energy Performance Certificates) and BRPs (Building Renovation Passports). ReLIFE draws on both static and dynamic data sources – such as satellite imagery and monitoring data – to improve the accuracy and availability of building stock information.
By combining stakeholder co-creation with practical validation in case studies, ReLIFE paves the way for scalable, data-driven renovation strategies tailored to real-world needs across Europe.
