- Heating/Cooling in integrated energy systems: Researcher
Richard Büchele works as a researcher at the Energy Economics Group at TU Wien since 2014. He holds a degree in electrical engineering with focus on energy economics and energy supply. For his master’s degree he developed a cost minimizing investment and dispatch model to cover the heat and electricity demand of a region and in his PhD thesis he focused on Integrated Strategic Heating and Cooling Planning on different Spatial Levels and Political Framework Conditions. His field of research includes strategic energy planning, optimization models, scenario development, modeling and assessment of energy policy instruments and evaluation of potentials for renewable heating and cooling options including sector coupling and power to heat.
