Integrating Building Renovation Passports into Energy Performance Certification schemes for a decarbonised building stock

  • Apr 2021Mar 2024

Project description

The iBRoad2EPC project represents the next step in energy efficiency assessment and certification practices by promoting and demonstrating the integration of Building Renovation Passport elements into Energy Performance Certification (EPC) systems. Building on the results of the predecessor project, iBRoad, which developed, tested, and deployed a Building Renovation Passport model that provides single-family homeowners with personalized advice to facilitate stepwise deep renovation, iBRoad2EPC aims to link the Building Renovation Passport with the EPC and to extend, enhance, and expand their format and common scope to include additional features and become applicable to multifamily and public buildings. The goal is to improve reliability, usefulness, and effectiveness, creating the next generation of EPCs that will support Europe's decarbonization ambitions while improving conditions for building occupants.
