Nikolaus Diez
Nikolaus is a research associate and PhD candidate at the Energy Economics Group (EEG) at TU Wien since March 2025. He holds a Master’s degree in Energy Systems and Automation Engineering and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. His research focuses on data-driven energy system analysis, with an emphasis on the European building stock and electrified transport. At EEG, he works with large-scale energy datasets, building renovation and performance assessment, and the spatiotemporal analysis of energy demand and infrastructure requirements in the context of European decarbonization pathways.
